Mr. Seong-woo Nam
Mr. Seong-woo Nam is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hanwha SolarOne. He brings rich experience and expertise in a broad range of management disciplines and has a strong track record of achievement. Prior to joining Hanwha SolarOne, Mr. Nam spent 30 years with Samsung Electronics, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Samsung’s IT Solutions Business; this includes its PC and Printer Business with 13,000 employees and revenues approaching $9 billion during his tenure. While under Mr. Nam’s direction for four years the IT Solutions Business experienced a more than three-fold increase in revenues, sales into 90 new countries, expansion of manufacturing scale, and a more than 300% gain in market share. Other responsibilities while at Samsung included leadership of the Business Innovation team for eight years where under his leadership the company launched global supply chain management, achieved cost reduction, and introduced process efficiencies across all global business units. Mr. Nam received his Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations in 1983 from Sogang University, Korea.
Mr. Jay Seo
Mr. Jay Seo is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of China Business for Hanwha SolarOne. He is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Seo joined SolarOne from Azdel Inc., an automotive thermoplastic material manufacturer based in Virginia, where he was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In his three and a half years at the company, he rebuilt the company's cash and debt management systems and processes, implemented a new ERP system, managed commercial banking relationships, raised capital, and helped the company expand market share in a competitive market with rising raw material prices. He also played an important role in the acquisition and post-acquisition integration of Azdel Inc. by Hanwha Corporation. Prior to joining Azdel, Mr. Seo held a variety of accounting, finance, and sales-related roles at Hanwha Resorts Corporation and Hanwha Chemical Corporation over a twelve year period. Mr. Seo earned an M.B.A. degree from the University of Washington, and a bachelor of arts with a concentration in finance and accounting from Seoul National University.
Mr. Jeong Eui Hong
Mr. Jeong Eui (J.E.) Hong serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Hanwha SolarOne, building on years of research and development experience in the solar industry. In this role, he oversees the development of photovoltaic technologies with market applications ranging from immediate horizons to five years and beyond. From wafer manufacturing to product integration, Mr. Hong will oversee the efforts conducted by Hanwha SolarOne’s R&D facilities in China, Korea, Germany and the United States.
In 2010, Mr. Hong joined Hanwha Chemical to lead its Solar R&D Group. Prior to joining Hanwha, he held leadership positions at Millinet Solar, LG Semicon and Applied Materials Korea.
Mr. Hong received his B.S. in Petroleum and Mineral Engineering from Seoul National University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Mr. Hae-Jin Hwang
Mr. Hae-Jin Hwang is the Executive Vice President and the Head of Cell/Module Division at Hanwha SolarOne. Before joining Hanwha, Mr. Hwang had various experience at Samsung Electronics Computer division, ranging from RND, Quality and Production. During working in PC RND team for 21 years, he developed many major products in Note PC, AIO and Desktop PC. Specially, he designed a Standardization/Modular Design which significantly reduced development lead-time and achieved cost reduction. As the Head of CS team established Quality and VOC system to improve PC quality substantially. As the President of Samsung Electronics Suzhou Computer, he carried out a Productivity Innovation Program to expand production capacity by 8 times in 4 years. Under his leadership, the company achieved world top-class manufacturing competitiveness through pursuing continuous quality and productivity improvement. Mr. Hwang received his B.S in Electronic Engineering from Yeungnam University and his M.S in Computer Science from Ajou University.
